This amazing photo explains why the the beach and Lakewalk in Canal Park were covered in rock, snow, ice and debris.  Locals will recognize this as the lighthouse on the pier by the Aerial Lift Bridge.  My friend and photographer, Marcie Crain took the photo at the height of the first storm of the season showing an angry Lake Superior.  In my first video it showed the Lakewalk buried under rocks and debris and wondered how long the clean-up would take.  The City of Duluth surprised me as you'll see the difference in my new video.

Previously, I told you the storm changed the terrain of the beach and threw rocks and debris on the Lakewalk and adjacent roadway making walking difficult and running near impossible.  It even pushed the wooden crib further up and it is now beached.  It use to sit several feet off the beach in the water.  This video will show the aftermath of the storm.

A week later my husband and I were running on the Lakewalk and were surprised by what we saw.  My compliments to the city staff that worked so hard to get the Lakewalk cleaned up to be used by visiting friends, family and tourists in town for the Snocross at Spirit Mountain, Bentleyville, Small Business Saturday and of course, the Thanksgiving weekend.  Nice job!
