It's been a while since I've been to the dentist.  I'm ashamed to admit that it's been something like 8 years.  I have my excuses, but that doesn't really matter now that I need to go see one.  After college, I didn't have dental insurance for 5 years.  Now I've had it for the last several years, but what's the point of using it if I don't have any pain?  I brush at least twice a day, often 3 times a day.  I floss regularly.  I use mouthwash.  I think I've done a pretty good job, but I'm still suffering from some anxiety over my upcoming appointment.

Every time I've been to the dentist, I never did a good enough job brushing or flossing.    Dentists are hard to please.  I really do try!  I kinda feel judged when I go.  Especially this time, I'm sure I'll be scolded.  I'm expecting the worse.

I have a history with dentists.  I had a pretty screwed up mouth growing up.  I had to have most of my baby teeth pulled.  I also had at least 8 adult teeth pulled.  You see, I have big teeth and a small mouth.  So if Cathy ever says I have a big mouth, I can prove her wrong with my dental records.

Also to add to the anxiety, I had to check with my automated insurance coverage number.  After 10 minutes of trying to communicate with that piece of garbage, I finally got my list of dentists in my coverage area.  Then, I called 7 dentists to find the one that could get me in the soonest.  Some weren't even accepting patients, others said it would be July before I could get in.  I finally found one that would get me in this week.  You can bet I'll be brushing and flossing like crazy the next few days.  I'll let you know how it goes.
