This will definitely give you a reason to smile, pun intended. A new study just revealed the best and worst states for dental health this year and if you're in Wisconsin or Minnesota, you will love this.

WalletHub released this list on Thursday (January 29th), ranking the states from the best to worst when it comes to dental health. Obviously, being near the bottom of this list would not be ideal.

WalletHub releases these types of lists often and the results are always interesting. For example, Minnesota was recently just named one of the best states to retire this year. That one surprised me for sure.

I wasn't surprised by the results of this new study but I sure am happy about them! Let's take a look at where Wisconsin placed on this list.

WalletHub Releases List Of Best & Worst States For Dental Health This Year

As always, WalletHub analysts looked at a bunch of different but important factors to make this list. They looked at how many kids and adults have gone to the dentist in the past year, the cost of dental treatments and more.

They also looked at dentists per capita, how many sugary drinks are consumed, how many adults smoke and more. They even looked into how much of the elderly population don't have natural teeth, among a few other factors.

Wisconsin Named The Third Best State For Dental Health This Year

Wisconsin did so well here, coming in at number three. Why? A good part of why Wisconsin ranked so high comes down to how many people have sleeping problems due to dental health. I didn't even know that was a thing, but Wisconsin has the lowest percentage of people in that category.

Another factor that helped? Wisconsin has the lowest percentage of people whose oral health interfered with their social life. Wisconsin also has a low cost for routine cleanings, making it more affordable, and some of the most dentists per capita. Who knew?!
