After starting the season 1-6, I was one of many people who thought that this may be the longest Twins season ever, which was tough to take since I thought they would show improvement this season.

Well, my faith has been restored as the Twins defeated Oakland 6-5 today at Target Field, completing an 8-3 homestand.  They are also 3 games over .500 for the first time since 2010.

For years the Twins have been talking about future stars like Byron Buxton coming up and changing the fortunes of the team.  While the expectations aren't as high for Eddie Rosario, he will share the outfield with Buxton in the future and he got his first chance in the major leagues Wednesday.

Rosario not only homered in his first at bat as a Twin, but he did it on the first pitch.  He stayed hot this afternoon by delivering a 2-out RBI single as well as a sacrifice fly.  I think we need to start calling him "Ready Eddie" because it doesn't look like he wants to be sent back down.

I don't think the Twins will be competing for the division title this year, but they should be more fun to watch.  This will especially be true if they continue to bring up their future stars.

In case you missed it, check out Eddie Rosario's first at bat as a Twin, and the reaction of his family who were at Target Field to witness the memorable night.

The happy family.
