Team John Shuster went unbeaten to win the USA Curling National Championships by winning the men's title

John Shuster had to twice fend off Team Rich Ruohonen, who they defeated in the first round and then that team came back to meet him again in the finals. The final game was a score of 8 to 6 to win in front of a packed crowd at Eastern Washington University’s Recreation Center in Cheney.

John Shuster's team will represent Team USA at the world men’s curling championship, March 18 to April 5 in Glasgow, Scotland. This is John Shuster's 9th national title, with 5 as a skip. According to the USA Curling website, John was rated in 3rd place entering this tourney. John Shuster said the key to being ready to win was playing a really tough schedule but limiting the amount of playing time.

Another stat to think about, John Shuster is 22-0 when he plays in the state of Washington.
