The late winter has allowed skiing to continue into May at Lutsen. They also will be opening their mountain 9 hole course, giving you the chance to do both in May.

More snow? Why not! Let's look on the bright side.

This winter has really been a bummer for outdoors people.  There really hasn't been a good amount of snow that's stuck around, and we've ended up with a bunch of ice on our trails.  Well that didn't stop this group of folks.  They took ice skates to the trails of Lester Park for some extreme winter fun.

The weather conditions just haven't worked out for the 2017 Birkebeiner Ski races this weekend.  Unseasonably warm weather along with rain melted away the snow.  There was a last minute hope that the snowstorm predicted would save the ski event, but the storm went further east.

We took advantage of the high humidity on Sunday morning that warmed Duluth's famous Lakewalk and took a walk.  (I'm still unable to run until this Wednesday). We were just behind the row of hotels in the canal and something caught my eye moving on Lake Superior that was very unusual.

This happened at a New Mexico ski resort where a 17 year old was trying to throw a snowball at his friends in the lift chair in front of him when he lost his balance.  He was able to hang on for a short time, but eventually fell over 45 feet to the ground.  Luckily, he is ok.
