When I was growing up, one of the things we did each summer on nice nights was to get friends together and have bonfires on Park Point. I remember some of us would then split off and walk down the beach because there were fires everywhere and we'd see friends and meet new ones. It appears that is something that is now strictly prohibited.
Summer in the Northland is not complete without several visitsto the beach on Park Point! The beach is open to the public complete with lifeguards, the option of borrowing a life jacket and a warning of risky swimming.
Although the morning started out cool, our temps should hit near 80 today, BEACH DAY! Although, you should be aware that there is a Red Flag Warning until 10a for the Park Point Beach area. Enjoy another fantastic Northland day with safety in mind.
Grandma's Marathon recently lost two of it's dedicated Board Members to Pancreatic Cancer. To remember Don Fennessy and Kevin Peterson there will be a new additional race to the Grandma's Marathon line-up.
