The State Fair's mascot Fairchild the Gopher was spotted Monday getting the fair grounds ready for visitors this summer.

The Minnesota State Fair Grandstand is getting a night of country music superstars. Trace Adkins, Clint Black, and Terri Clark will be performing on August 25th at the State Fair. One of the things I look forward to is the announcement by the Minnesota State Fair of their new food and vendors, seeing what's odd and what's new.

Taylor Swift is in the news after an incident that took place several years ago is finally going to court.   She accused a Denver DJ of groping her butt during a meet & greet. We are still waiting to see how this will all pan out, but it brings to mind a time that I had an incident when I met Taylor Swift.

It wouldn't be the Great Minnesota Get Together without having a bunch of unique food to try.  This year looks even more interesting going beyond the traditional "fry up" anything approach.  There are some great foods that are now combined together, and some twists on some old favorites.

Summit wants you to name their new limited Minnesota State Fair Beer.  They are creating a new beer for the "Great Minnesota Get Together," and they are giving random beer drinkers a chance to come up with the name for their locally sourced brew.

Breaking news!  Carrie Underwood has just been announced as the headliner for the MN State Fair Grandstand on August 29th!  Tickets go on sale December 13th!

Yesterday the Minnesota State Fair announced it's 28 new foods coming this year!  Among the new foods were two that are straight from the Iron Range!

It's Minnesota's favorite get together and this year Toby Keith will be joining the party.   The Fair today announced that he'll play opening night!
