Former Duluth resident Kara Goucher revealed she has a rare neurological disorder that affects her ability to run.

The Olympian will be signing copies of her new book 'Strong' at The Bookstore at Fitger's tonight.

Every summer we hear of the dangers of leaving a dog locked in a car on a warm day.  Another danger is runners who take their dogs with them for a summer run and it's for that reason that Kara Goucher has teamed with PETA to help spread the word.

Grandma's Marathon weekend will have more excitement than usual as it was announced that U.S. Olympian and Duluth native, Kara Goucher, is expected to run the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.  She is also scheduled to speak as a part of race-weekend festivities.

While Duluth native Kara Goucher will not be running this weekend at Grandmas Marathon, she is still out there racing and performing extremely well.

Duluth native Kara Goucher had another strong showing today in the 117th running of the Boston Marathon.

Someone asked me when Kara Goucher, our hometown girl and marathon runner would compete.  Here's the details so we can cheer Kara on to a win for USA!

It's not every year that Grandmas Marathon weekend passes and who won the big race takes a back burner to who won a half marathon race.  This was no regular year however with the half marathon USA National Championships in town.  Oh, did I mention that hometown Olympic athlete Kara Goucher returned to set a course record and win the women's USA National Championships in the city she grew up in? It was a great story before Saturday.  Elite athlete Kara Goucher returns home to Duluth to run for the first time in Grandmas Marathon weekend.  When the women's USA Half Marathon Championships was over, that great story became storybook perfect.
