There's a new phishing scam that looks like they come from MnDOT and Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services asking to renew or validate their driver's license.

The DMV has helped people practice social distancing during the pandemic by putting more services online, but doing so has also opened the door to scammers.

The changes went into effect Wednesday, April 8th.

You can use the secure drop box outside of the St. Louis County Auditor's Miller Hill Mall location. This includes renewing tabs, motor vehicle titles, and some other services.

Nothing can kill the momentum in your day more than having to visit the DMV and wait for what seems like forever to complete a task.  The Wisconsin DMV has now made of those tasks available online.

I had to renew my drivers license the other day.  Of course, it's that anxiety of how terrible your photo is going to look.  My photo always looks bad.  Seriously bad.  Like it adds 50 pounds to me, and I'm already not slim to begin with. Well I finally got my license back, and the photo is terrible once again.  But now I know why.

The Department of Motor Vehicles in ANY state gets a bad rap.  We all hate the lines, we hate the fees, and it's a place sometimes we just HAVE to go to.  I get that, and I'm not complaining or making jokes about it.  The joke is getting kind of old anyway.  But today I found another frustrating thing:  None of my cards would work for payment.

There's a new law that was passed last year in Minnesota that requires boaters this season to have a "invasive species tips" sticker on the boat.  The DNR hopes this will help boaters be more aware of invasive species and how to prevent the spread from lake to lake. I was hooking up a trailer to my truck a few days ago when I noticed that my plates were expired.  Oh crap!  How did that happen?  The mail leprechaun must have stolen one of my bills again.  (Seems to happen sometimes.)
