We handed out a bunch of prizes last night at Grizzly's in Canal Park last night. The prizes included pit tickets to Thomas Rhett, tickets to Randy Houser, Keith Urban suite seats, and the grand prize of the Keith Urban backstage experience. Congrats to Missy Luukkonen who miraculously won the grand prize!
Cathy saw "Footloose" last night on TV, and realized how corny it was. I mean, it was really cheesy. Take for example the "Angry Dance" scene at the warehouse. How about the scene where Kevin Bacon teaches the other dude how to dance. Both of us realized as well that this was totally David Drew in the 1980's. See what we were talking about with these horribly cheesy scenes
Anticipation is growing for the first major Peanuts feature in years, with Charlie Brown and the gang heading to the big screen on November 6. As part of that excitement, a website called Peanutize Me is giving people the chance to make their own character. We decided to do it too!
Like most places, our radio station has a break room where we can have a quick snack. Unlike most places, our vending machine is a vintage old school model. I visit this crazy machine a few times a week, but I never realized that it was magical. Until now.
Doesn't David Drew's mouth look like that of a muppet? So, Ken had this morning off because the Country Fest Express didn't roll in until 4am. Chris and I talked about the pics they were sharing on the B105 fb page (are YOU a fb friend?) and we got calls to get em' up on our webpage, SO you asked for it!
While doing some spring cleaning in the storage room at the radio station, a priceless old video of the B105 staff was discovered. From the sound of it, this was an old promotional video for a TV series that David Drew and Cathy Kates were co-producing for air in the Twin Ports -- unfortunately, the show never got off the ground.
I wouldn't consider myself the life of the party or anything, but I try to be in a good mood whenever possible. That lead a few of my co-workers to wonder if anything at all puts me in a bad mood or, more directly, what makes me mad. They challenged me to make a video listing those things, so I sat down and let it roll.
Like many workplaces around the country, a group of us here at the radio station formed a fantasy football league to see who has the most elite fantasy football mind. B105 afternoon personality David Drew was crowned the winner; and being the pranksters we are, a check or stack of cash wouldn't work...
Here we are, days away from saying goodbye to 2013. It's been an interesting year, with lots of memorable stories we've all shared. Some of these stories are sad and some are happy, others are touching, and some are just plain goofy.
We've taken a little time to see what your favorite stories of the year have been...
Around this time of the year, I get things mailed to me from record labels to promote their artists and get my vote for the CMA Awards. They do this to showcase all the accomplishments the artists have earn throughout the year and they can be very creative in getting this done...
