Country Throwback

Blake Shelton has two concerts this weekend at Xcel Energy Center.  In honor of his back-to-back shows, my Country Throwback remembers the first number one hit from his second album 'The Dreamer'.

Towards the end of summer, parents get a little stir crazy and start to count the days until the kids are all back in school.  Now that has happened and before we know it, the school year will pass and our kids will be another year older.  With that in mind, I thought of a great Trace Adkins song for my Country Throwback.

The Great Minnesota Get Together is officially underway!  With the Dixie Chicks set to perform two sold-out shows this weekend, my choice for a Country Throwback was very easy.

The Krazy Kids Inflatable Fun Run is Saturday in Superior.  Last week, in honor of the event, my Country Throwback revisited Gary Allan's 'Tough Little Boys', which is a great song about having a daughter.  Since I have a girl and a boy, I thought I better remember a great song about having son this week.

It's the dog days of summer and I know many parents are looking forward to having kids get back to school and into a routine once again.  However, before that happens you should let them burn off some steam and have fun at the Krazy Kids Inflatable Fun Run, which is coming to Superior Saturday, August 20. I know most students across the Northland aren't really excited by the words "back to school", but the season in upon us.  This week, we kicked off our Stuff The Trailer campaign, looking to collect school supplies for local kids in need.  In honor of that, my Country Throwback remembers a great school song from George Strait.

WE Fest is next week and Billy Currington will be there.  We'd like you to be there too, and we have plenty of 3-day passes yet to give away both on-air and Friday night at the Ugly Stick Saloon in Superior.  In honor of WE Fest, my Country Throwback honors Billy's first hit, which is a very personal song to him.

Starting Friday, you can win 3-day passes to WE Fest just by listening to B105.  In honor of the upcoming contest and festival, my Country Throwback remembers the first hit from headliner Eric Church.

July is National Ice Cream Month, so my Country Throwback this week remembers a Diamond Rio hit that has ice cream as part of the chorus.

This Saturday it's Insane Inflatable 5K time in Superior!  It's such a fun and unique event and since it ends with participants going down a giant slide, I thought I'd honor one of country music's best slide guitarists for my Country Throwback.

I'm still not sure where June went, but Fourth Of July Weekend is approaching so I have plenty of great songs to choose from for my Country Throwback.  Lee Greenwood is always a classic, as are numerous patriotic Toby Keith hits, but I decided to go with a big hit from from Aaron Tippin.

This week is Meet A Mate Week, where singles are encouraged to get out there and find their someone special.  With that in mind, I decided to honor a Collin Raye love story song with my Country Throwback.
