On Sunday, January 2, 2022, Superior Police K-9 Marik complete his final shift and now the accomplished officer is ready to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

The Northland K9 Foundation announced the big news Monday on their Facebook page:

A fitting farewell for Superior Police K-9 Marik who finished his final shift last night and now is officially retired. After serving as Officer Eastman's partner for just shy of eight years, he is transitioning to a new role as Eastman family pet.
K-9 Marik forever holds a special place in our hearts because he is the very first K-9 our foundation helped purchase.
Over the years, he chalked up an impressive list of accomplishments, including: 570 deployments and involvement in 92 arrests. He sniffed out 599 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 2.67 pounds of cocaine and 205 grams of marijuana, as well as three firearms possessed by felons.
He clearly was convincing in his bark, because not once in a real life scenario did he ever have to bite a suspect.
