I remember the first time I put Kylee's car seat in.  Confusion, frustration, and I HAD to succeed, this was responsible for my child's safety in the vehicle (Ken would insert a joke about the way I drive here).  I finally figured it out, but it would have been nice to have a professional to check over the way I had secure it and assured me that I was in compliance.  A car seat clinic will be held next week, during Child Passenger Safety Week.

Car crashes are the number 1 killer of children ages 1 through 13.  That's sad, considering the precautions we take to protect them in the vehicle.

As part of Child Passenger Safety Week (September 16-22), law enforcement in our City will provide hands-on child safety seat inspections and advice — for free!  Learn more about child safety and car seats [here].

When a parent arrives, a certified car seat safety technician climbs into the vehicle to inspect child safety seats. Necessary adjustments will be made so the seats are properly installed to protect children in the event of a crash. The technician will also answer parents’ questions or concerns about car seat safety.

No appointment is necessary. People will be helped on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, please call 730-4380 (Laura Owen).
