Routine Bridge Inspections + Road Closures Begin Monday In Duluth
Expect another series of routine bridge inspections in Duluth to lead to road closures and detours beginning Monday.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the work will take place between Monday, August 17 and Thursday, August 20.
Here's the schedule:
Monday, August 17
Right lane closures will occur on northbound I-35 exits at Superior Street and Michigan Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. A flagging operation will be in place.
Tuesday, August 18
The northbound I-35 to northbound Highway 53 ramp will close for inspection between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists will be detoured.
Wednesday, August 19
Right lane closures will occur on northbound and southbound Highway 53 at 21st Avenue West between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Thursday, August 20
The Highway 53 northbound ramp at 21st Avenue West will be closed. Plan an alternate route.
If you're traveling near these areas on days when work is being done, MnDOT asks for patience while driving through work zones and please use caution as crews will be out in the open.
Following guidance from state health officials and to prevent further spread of COVID-19, Minnesota Department of Transportation crews will maintain social distancing practices while working.
