Spring is just around the corner, and preparations are already being made for the continuing reconstruction of Belknap Street in Superior.  The first update has been released to the public.  Get ready for some detours and one lane traffic coming soon!

The project began last summer, where crews successfully revamped two sections of the busy street.  Several of the west blocks were redone from John to Banks Ave, and another section of the east part of Belknap was completed in 2017.  The middle stretch is next that stretches from Catlin  Avenue to John Ave.

The first update doesn't include any traffic impacts yet.  Crews will begin installing temporary signs at Hammond, Grand, and Catlin Avenues.

The following week more signs will be put up, along with detour routes, prepping for work to begin when weather warms up and ground begins to thaw.

The whole project estimated cost when it began was $23 million.  The entire project is scheduled to be completed at the end of the summer.
