U-Haul Offering Free Storage To Minnesota Wildfire Evacuees

If you are reading this right now, you already know that there are wildfires burning in northern Minnesota and beyond, bringing dangerous air quality to our neck of the woods this week.

In fact, on Thursday (July 16th), our region had the worst air quality in the world. The air is thick with smoke and it is advised that you stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. It is expected to get better this weekend.

There have been many event cancellations and postponements due to the unhealthy air quality just today alone and that will likely continue to the weekend. That's how bad the smoke is.

Despite the smoky air quality, there are many people that are being displaced at the moment, having to leave their homes because of the fires burning in northern Minnesota. U-Haul has stepped up to help.

U-Haul Steps Up For Those That Need It During Minnesota Wildfires

U-Haul announced this week that they are offering thirty days of free self-storage and use of a U-Box container to residents of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. They are also offering discounted trailer rates for people that are evacuating.

They are offering any of the above solutions free of charge for one month. They say they are ready to help anyone impacted, including those in other parts of the state, like Bemidji and Brainerd.

If you are in need of a trailer discount, evacuees are asked to contact U-Haul Company of Northern Minnesota at 763-780-4487. You should contact your nearest U-Haul location or stop by in person to arrange your free storage.
