President Trump Visits AMSOIL Arena In Duluth [PICS]
It was a big day for the city of Duluth as the President of the United States made a visit Wednesday. On the schedule? A round table discussion with local members of the mining and shipping industry followed by a rally.
The rally was originally scheduled to take place at the DECC but was quickly moved to the larger venue of AMSOIL Arena prior to his big visit.
Doors opened at 3:30 p.m. with the rally itself beginning at 6:30 p.m.
There was a little bit of chaos earlier in the day. An outage knocked power out of areas across the Northland, including Downtown Duluth, the DECC and AMSOIL. It was eventually restored and the event went on as scheduled.
Prior to the rally, President Trump held a round table with about a dozen advocates from the shipping and mining industry.
During his rally speech, he congratulated the UMD Bulldogs on their big win in the NCAA Championship and showed support for Pete Stauber, who is running for the 8th Congressional District seat.
This isn't the first time President Trump has visited the area. In April 2016, the then-presidential hopeful held a rally in Superior as part of his election campaign.
