Charlie Berens Hosts Data Center Discussion Tonight In Duluth

I noticed Charlie Berens' message to Duluth last night while scrolling through my Facebook feed. At first, I assumed he was promoting a show or stand-up appearance, but then I learned this isn't about the laughs. Charlie Berens has been an advocate for creating policies and rules regarding data centers.

Stop the Hermantown Data Center (SHDC) is hosting Charlie and experts at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center on July 14th from 6-8 PM. The event will take place in the Harbor Side Convention Center.

Charlie and expert panelists from MN and Wisconsin. Those experts include Prescott Balch, who is a retired technology executive. His goal is to help communities make fully informed decisions, according to the event page. Charlie did an old fashioned interview with Balch three months ago.

Professional Geologist Lori Huntoon has experience with environmental cleanup efforts in the country and water laws.

Also on the panel is Amanda Mueller, who has firsthand experience living next to hyperscale AI data center complexes. She will share her insights and experiences.

The event is free, but you need to register and reserve a spot. Doors open at 5:30, with the discussion beginning at 6 PM.
