Music On The Ship Returns To Duluth With Free Summer Concerts

One of Duluth's famous landmarks is hosting a concert this week. It's the beginning of Music On The Ship at the DECC. Where else can you enjoy a concert while on a historic laker?

Music On The Ship started a few years back, when the DECC came up with a fun summer activity. There's nothing more Duluth than this!

The concert series takes place each Thursday through August 13th. The event kicks off on July 23rd with Janie and The Spokes. They are a fun, upbeat indie rock band. They call themselves an Americana Jangle-Core rock band.

The event is free each Thursday. However, because it's on a historic ship, it's not handicapped accessible. There's a maximum of 140 people per show, so come early. It is a family-friendly event. You can bring your own bag chair (bag chairs only). Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, but no alcohol will be served on site.

The ship door opens at 6:30, with music starting at 7 pm this Thursday.

Next week, the Mid Dream Band will perform. On August 6th, the Flight Of Stares will take the ship's deck. The final performance this summer will be Breanne Marie and The Front Porch Sinners on August 13th.
