Missing Minnesota Teen May Have Been Seen In Duluth Area

Recently, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a Missing Person Alert for a teen girl who left her house in the morning and hasn't been seen since.

The alert stemmed from the Forest Lake Police Department, which was asking for the public's help to locate 14-year-old Desiray Kappes, who left her home on her bike around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19 and never came home.

Authorities are reporting that Desiray is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

According to KARE 11, Forest Lake Police Captain Greg Weiss stated that investigators were running down between 15 and 20 tips that had come in within the first several days following her disappearance, but at the time there didn't appear to be a common denominator in terms of location or scenario. Weiss also shared that five Forest Lake officers are working the case full-time, along with deputies from Washington County and agents from the BCA.

Then, on Wednesday, May 31, the Duluth Police Department shared the original Missing Person Alert and added what could be crucial information in that Desiray Kappes was possibly seen in Duluth on Monday, May 29.

If true, this would obviously be a big break that would hopefully lead to her being safely located and reunited with her family. As is always the case in situations such as this, the more people who see the Missing Person Alert and Desiray's picture, the better chance she is found.
