I had the pleasure of attending a fundraiser for our USA Olympic Curling Team at the Pickwick on Sunday.  There four normal every day guys roamed the crowd, pictured above is John Shuster and his son, Luke.  Also on the team, Jared Zezel, Jeff Isaacson and John Landsteiner.  The excitement is building as they're about to leave for Sochi, Russia to come home with the gold!  Learn a little about our team that will represent and here's your opportunity to wear red, white and blue while supporting our Olympic Curling Team.

What is curling?

A sport played on a sheet of ice where players slide stones towards a target area with four concentric rings. It's like bowling, meets hockey, meets shuffleboard. Two teams of four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called "rocks", across the ice toward the target to try and accumulate the highest score target.   Points are scored for the stones resting closest to the center of the house at the conclusion of each end, which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones. A game may consist of ten or eight ends.

Meet the Team:

Jared Zeze is a 22 year old senior at Minnesota's Bemidji State University.  He has taken the semester off to focus on bringing home the gold!

John Shuster, 31, is a new daddy to Luke (see pic) and manages the Pickwick Restaurant part time. [More Info]

Jeff Isaacson, 30, is a science teacher.

John Landsteiner, 23, just earned his civil engineering degree last spring.

Good luck guys!  We'll be watching and waiting for you to bring home the GOLD!
