We can't avoid it any longer. Winter is coming.

We have been pretty spoiled this September. Despite some rainy days as of late, it has been fairly mild. This is a relief, considering the Old Farmer's Almanac predicted snow near the end of the month. (It could still happen but as of right now, it isn't looking like it!)

So, taking this prediction out of the mix, when will we see our first snowfall in the Northland? The Old Farmer's Almanac says October!

According to their predictions, the month will start off mild with sunshine. After a few days, we will see a stretch of rainy days and cool temperatures.

Shortly after is when our first snowfall could make an appearance! The report says rain and snow showers could move into the eastern part of the forecast region, which would include the Northland. This snowfall would fall between October 8th and the 15th.

After sunshine followed by some rain, we could see another round of snow. From October 25th to the 31st, the Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting cold temperatures and snow showers.

The good news is, if we don't see our first snowfall before then, we have quite a bit of time to enjoy fall before things take a turn!
