NWS Duluth Shares Temperature Outlook For Next Week
There is one word that describes February in Duluth so far: brrrrrr!
It has been very cold since the month kicked off, with temperatures falling below zero and feeling even colder for a prolonged period of time. However, it seems like there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
The National Weather Service of Duluth shared an outlook of the temperatures for the next week, from the time period of February 10th through the next Wednesday. Based on their graphic, it looks like things are looking up!
Take a look below:
This is definitely a sigh of relief because like I said, it has been downright cold. You may think this is normal for February standards and while you aren't wrong, it has actually been colder than average for this time of year in the Duluth area! At one point over the weekend of February 5th, we were twenty degrees below our average. Yikes.
We should have seen this all coming, though. Just before our cold snap began, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. This is usually a no-brainer in the Northland and to be honest, he does have an okay track record.
Speaking of more winter, shortly after Phil saw his shadow, WDIO Chief Meteorologist Justin Liles posted an amazing meme that summed up just about all of our feelings regarding the entire thing.
While we are used to the cold, this recent cold snap feels a bit more jarring than usual because we saw such a mild January. Bundle up!
