Are you looking for a new hobby to take part in this spring and summer? I have just the thing for you, courtesy of the National Weather Service of Duluth. We all know the weather is never boring in Minnesota so you will always be needed.

Once again, the National Weather Service of Duluth is looking for weather spotters and have a long list of course options for you if you want to take part. It's all completely free and just a fun way to get involved in the community.

The Skywarn Spotter Training courses kick off later this month and can be taken in person or virtually if you can't make it into the class. They will take place all over from Brainerd to Grand Rapids to a class right here in Duluth.

Times for each class vary, with some in the early afternoon and some in the evening. Anyone with an interest in weather or outdoor hobbies is encouraged to take part. Everyone and anyone is welcome.

The trainings take two hours and these spring courses teach you how to identify and report things like large hail, strong winds and even tornadoes. It's also great if you've always been interested in the weather!

You can take a look at the full course schedule below, courtesy of the NWS Duluth Twitter account! As of now, there are 19 classes you can take part in with more to be added in the future.

The National Weather Service of Duluth also holds winter spotter trainings as well if you want to take part in both or if you prefer winter weather to spring and summer. You can read up on that via the National Weather Service's website.

One thing is for sure: we are having a very strange winter in the Duluth area, if you could even call it that. We have barely seen any snow and it's been very nice and warm, especially by Duluth standards.
