Vandals Move Flower Baskets, Have Campfire On Grave At Duluth Cemetery
This is pretty sad to see, and it has angered many people in the community. Someone moved flower baskets from graves in the cemetery and even had a campfire on someone's grave. That's got to be bad karma, right?
The incident happened at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth's Woodland neighborhood.
Every year, the cemetery offers flower baskets for a fee for people to place at their loved ones' graves.
On Monday, July 22, Forest Hill Cemetery posted a photo on their Facebook page of the flower baskets being moved by someone, apologizing that they can't control what people do when they aren't there.
They've asked that if anyone has any information on who did this over the last weekend to please call them at 218-724-6743. The cemetery also asked that the public understand that they likely won't be able to put them back in the correct places.
I reached out to the cemetery, and they also sent this photo saying someone had a campfire there that night as well. How disrespectful can someone be?
The baskets were moved to the area of the top of section N.
Some people in the Facebook comments suggested someone could have been doing some kind of ritual. Why would they put the baskets in a circle?
Others commented that they've had problems in the past with their baskets being stolen.
Forest Hill Cemetery is located at 2516 Woodland Avenue.
