I took an old friend out to lunch yesterday in Downtown Duluth. Usually, I brace myself for it being way more expensive than it should be. Eating out is getting expensive, especially with service charges, kitchen fees, tips, and more costly menu items.

For example, I ate at a different restaurant the other day and got a salad and a lemonade. With tip, it was over $30. That's for a salad and lemonade.

Yesterday we went out to one of Duluth's newest restaurants. It's the Mexican restaurant Emiliano's. It's right across the street from our studios in Downtown Duluth.

There have been a number of businesses in the location over the last few years, but they have struggled to make it and ended up closing. I'm optimistic that Emiliano's will stick around because it's affordable and seems to be pretty busy!

They have a lunch menu page with special prices. My friend got the Tacos Americanos for $8.99 and I got the enchilada lunch special for $8.99.

The food came quickly, and we ordered and finished eating within 30 minutes altogether, which is exactly what you want for lunch during the workday. The food was authentic and great! I haven't tried their dinner menu yet, but it looks pretty good as well. They have a lot of specialty menu items I'll have to go back and try.

Give Emiliano's a try and support new restaurants in Downtown Duluth!
