New Wisconsin Cell Phone, Driving Law Is Now In Effect
Driving while holding your cell phone is never a smart idea, but now it's illegal while driving through work zones in Wisconsin.
A new law began on October 1 that allows law enforcement officials to pull over and ticket motorists who are operating cell phones while driving through work zones. The first offense is $40 and any subsequent violations will result in $100 fines.
The law is intended to protect work crews as well as other motorists as distracted driving is dangerous to everyone on the road.
