Every Tuesday I call Jim Stukel from Tortoise & Hare Footwear.  He reminded me that Gearing Up For Grandma's is tomorrow.  The weather is suppose to be getting warmer and if you're registered for one of the races on Grandmas Marathon Weekend, training should start if it hasn't already.   However, if you're in need of inspiration or if you are looking for valuable running information then you'll want to attend the annual Gearing Up for Grandma’s pre-race seminar, Saturday, March 4.  It doesn't matter if you're a novice or a beginner, the event will hold something for everyone. As usual, the event is offered for free at Essentia Health's First Street Building Lobby – 420 East 1st Street, Duluth.  The speaker this year will be Jeff Galloway, Olympian, inventor of the Run Walk Run Training Method and international running coach.  I'm sure he'll have lots of interesting stories as well as information on a training method that might be perfect for you.  This year they are offering very memorable opportunity, before the seminar starts, there will there will be a free group run on the lake walk with Jeff Galloway.  How cool is that?

Here is the agenda for the event:

10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Presentations and Photo Opportunities
10:00 a.m. – Comments from Shane Bauer, executive director of Grandma's Marathon
10:05 a.m. – Jim and Mary Stukel will offer advice on selecting the proper running shoe
10:15 a.m. – Stephanie Fennessey will speak about proper nutrition and fueling for race day
10:30 a.m. – Dr. Ben Nelson will speak about training and injury prevention
10:45 a.m. – Jeff Galloway will discuss her running career and experiences
11:15 a.m. – Q & A session with featured speakers and audience
11:30 a.m. – Door prize drawing and event conclusion

See?  Something for everything and all your questions answered.  Best of luck in your training, I hope to see you on the course!  (well, it'll probably be the back of you, lol).
