Take your running game up a notch! A brand new, weekend-long series of races has just been announced. The Minnesota series takes place at Spirit Mountain, which is pretty cool!

Summit North Trail Runs Series

This series of races is headed to Spirit Mountain from August 23rd through the 25th. This series is family-friendly and for people of all ages.

Whether looking for a challenge or just some time in the great outdoors, this is a great new series. The premise of the series is to get people to experience a race on some of 'the Midwest's most beautiful trails' like these!

How To Register + Take Part

Unlike other race series, this one has a ton of individual races you can sign up for, ranging in length and difficulty. They also range in style, too.

Registration is open now and you can only register online. It is open through August 23rd and 24th, depending on which races you want to take part in. All races have a different price based on age and such.

The Different Races

Here is the breakdown of races by day, which are spread out throughout the course of an entire weekend!

  • Friday, August 23rd: Hill climb for juniors ages 12 to 16 and hill climb for adults ages 17 years old and up
  • Saturday, August 24th: Mountain Lap 5K for ages 13 and up, The Creeks 8 mile for ages 15 and up, Forest Track Heavy Half Marathon for ages 17 years old and up and the free kids trail adventure
  • Sunday, August 25th: Free guided hikes for ages 12 and up with beginner and intermediate skill levels

You can also create a team and try to compete for top honors against other teams! There is also merchandise for purpose.

This race series is awesome and I love that it is different than so many other races in the Duluth area! What a fun way to continue to stay in shape after training for Grandma's Marathon.
