Summer will be here before you know it! The Minnesota State Fair is arguably the best part of summertime in Minnesota and you can have a little taste of it next month. They just announced all the details of their annual Kickoff To Summer event.

Kickoff To Summer Event Details

The fourth annual event features all your favorite fair food and drinks with about forty vendors. It also has live music and free entertainment, shopping, inflatable axe throwing, pickleball, Giant Slide rides and more.

This year, they are also bringing back the Milk Run 5K Race as well. There will also be history tours, mini golf, arcade games and more. Organizers describe it as a 'laid-back patio vibe' type of event.

When Is It?

This year, the event will take place during the following days and hours so plan accordingly.

  • Thursday, May 23rd from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday, May 24th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 25th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 26th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where Can I Get Tickets?

Tickets are limited to make this event more of that laid-back vibe than the actual fair itself. You must purchase a ticket ahead of time via Etix and be aware that they do sell out.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 5th at 10 a.m. You can save money by purchasing your ticket online for $13 bucks plus taxes. Prices jump at the gate if any are available at that time. Kids four and under can get in free.

What Food Vendors Will Be There?

This is the best part of the entire event, in my opinion. Here are some of the vendors that will be onsite.

  • Baba's
  • Duke's Poutine
  • Fresh French Fries
  • Mouth Trap Cheese Curds
  • The Perfect Pickle
  • Tot Boss

There will be a few new additions this year as well, so prepare to drool. Peachey's Baking Company is a new addition, along with a new spot called Trickster Tacos.

Food and treats aside, there are so many different things to do during this Kickoff To Summer event this year. From the free entertainment to the specialty shopping and exhibit booths, there is something for everyone. You can see a full schedule of events on the Minnesota State Fair's website.
