NE Minnesota Office Of Job Training Feature Virtual Job Fair
The Nemojt Virtual Job Fair is back for a second year and offers many ways to speak with employers.
I talked with Dave Cook with the NE Minnesota Office of Job Training, he said on April 13th and 14th is the Nemojt Virtual job fair from 10 am to 3 pm each day, and this year it features up to 100 employers looking for quality employees. The great part about this is if you already have a job and you are looking for a job, you can talk to the businesses right away, and instead of printing up a resume, you can send it electronically to the employer. You can also talk with them right away in a private conversation.
In an interview, Cook said last year the Nemojt was forced to come up with a virtual solution to their job fair and used the Premier Virtual's event platform and were able to pull it off. The reason of course was COVID, but it laid the groundwork to come up with more to do and more ways to meet with employers and to interact with them. It was the first year last year so there were a few bugs. This year there are so many more employers. There were 500 job seekers last year and so far it looks like so many more people will attend.
You will be able to log in with your pad, phone, tablet, or computer. There will be easy video chat available so you can talk to the employers right away. The other good thing about being virtual is you will never run into your current employer if you are looking for something because it is virtual.
Just connect with the website and register. Once you create your Free job seeker account you can upload your resume there and then you are ready to go. You must have one uploaded in order to participate and apply for a job during the event.
