Make Home-Crafted Shaving Cream for Your Father’s Day Gift this Year
So you've made breakfast in bed for dear ole' dad for the last two years, you've bought him several ties and he's still using the robe you gave him five years ago, what now? Something hand-crafted is always appreciated. You took the time to make it and made it with love. Thanks to One Good Thing by Jillee, you can make home-made shaving cream!
What Jillee Used:
- 2/3 cup virgin coconut oil
- 2/3 cup shea butter
- 1/4 cup olive oil (you could also use almond, grapeseed or jojoba oil)
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
What Jillee did:
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the shea butter and coconut oil, stirring until just melted. Remove from the heat and add the olive oil and essential oils. Stir to mix. Transfer to a bowl or jar and refrigerate until solid.
Remove from the refrigerator and let soften slightly. Whip using a hand beater or a stand mixer until light and fluffy – about 2-3 minutes. Spoon into a jar with a lid and keep in a cool, dry place.
Jillee said she tried it on her legs and it did it's job, plus left her legs soft and moisturized. Just think what it will feel like on Dad's face!!! Maybe you better make a double batch, so you can give one and keep on for yourself :)
