The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is jointly investigating a local window & door business after they allegedly took customers money and never finished the work. So far estimates are over $100,000 worth of money paid from customers for work that has not been finished by Hicks Window & Door.

According to a press release, the owner of the company is cooperating with authorities. The sheriff's office also believes there are more people that have yet to come forward that may have paid money and never had work finished. If you or someone you know has had a similar experience, you are to contact the authorities:

Within the City of Duluth: Investigator Andrew Graves at 218-730-5729

Outside of the City of Duluth: Investigator Alyssa Schlichting at 218-336-4352

A search of their business on google shows several complaints in the last year in google reviews. Each of which the owner calls the review "fake reviews."

I paid this guy $6,000 to install Heartland windows and a patio door. After over 2 months of excuses, missed install dates and unanswered requests for new install dates, I called Heartland directly to find out if Jason had actually ordered any windows or doors. I was told that they've refused to do business with him for well over 6 months because of past due bills and they will never do business with him again. He took my money with full knowledge that there was no way for him to even acquire the product. Steer very, very clear unless you have expendable dollars to donate to a bad cause.

Unreliable, not trustworthy. The quality of his work is terrible and if you need something fixed he won't show up. Don't trust this guy. If you want windows installed right he's not the answer.
