Professional storm chaser Reed Timmer has been in the game for a long time. 30 years, as a matter of fact. That means he's seen a lot of crazy severe storms and tornadoes over the years.

Of all of the storms he's seen in those three decades, he says the "most insane tornado I have ever seen in my 30-year career" apparently just happened in Minnesota.

Nope, not in the traditional Tornado Alley states. Minnesota.

While we get tornadoes up this way, they generally aren't as frequent or extreme as places further south. This summer has been quite abnormal in that sense.

Reed Timmer and numerous other professional storm chasers have spent a lot of time in Minnesota in recent weeks, chasing storms here and in neighboring states.

The last couple of weeks of June this year have been particularly ripe for severe weather across Minnesota, with nearly 50 tornadoes across the state so far this year through the end of June.

It's no wonder such a prominent storm chaser like Reed Timmer would spend a chunk of his storm chasing season in Minnesota. It's been a hotspot for these destructive storms. Thankfully, many of them have been in more rural areas, but the effects of these powerful storms have been felt in places like Bemidji, where a lot of damage was caused by one storm in mid-June

The location of this particular storm is kind of unclear. In the description for the YouTube video below, Timmer says it was just west of Gary, Minnesota, which is located in Northwestern Minnesota, a little west of Mahnomen.

Similar-looking footage on Timmer's X account suggests the tornado was in Gary, South Dakota, which is right on the Minnesota-South Dakota border near Canby, Minnesota.

My gut tells me he probably meant Gary, South Dakota, but he had been spending a lot of time in Minnesota and didn't know what side of the border he was on, being this was literally right on the border.

Either way, this storm definitely crossed the border into Minnesota.

In the caption for this video, he calls it the "most amazing tornado intercept ever", saying it was "the most insane tornado I have ever seen in my 30-year career".

The twister was definitely wild. The well-formed tornado churned up dirt and debris, narrowly missing a house but definitely picking up and throwing around things from people's property in the area.

Give the video a watch below. While the audio is difficult to hear, the visuals depict the raw power these storms can pack. Just remember, Timmer and his team are experienced professionals with decades of experience and education. Don't go trying to do this on your own.
