Many retailers have opted to close stores over the past few years. Many of us like to shop online from the comfort of our couch!

I am one of those people that still likes to go into a brick-and-mortar and walk out with my items. That way I don't have to inevitably go to that store anyway to return something.

The latest business to announce they'd be shuttering stores nationwide was at one point the fastest-growing retailer in the country!

This business also has a location in Duluth - Torrid. The chain sells women's plus-sized clothing like dresses, jeans, shoes and more.

All About The Torrid Store In Duluth

We learned about the store opening in Duluth about two years ago. The store opened in the Burning Tree Plaza a short time later. It was originally thought to be in the Miller Hill Mall.

This Duluth location is one of about ten in Minnesota. There are also locations in the Mall of America, Maple Grove and Roseville. With about 180 stores closing nationwide later this year, I called the Duluth store to see if it was closing.

Is Duluth Losing Its Torrid Store?

I called the store directly to see what the deal was. An employee told me that the store was not closing. A list of the stores that are closing has not released been released just yet.

That means our Duluth location is safe. A few days ago, the brand itself shared the news of the closures, writing that they've 'thoughtfully chosen' which stores stay open so that everyone has access to a store if they want it.

I was told that the Northtown location in Minnesota is one that is potentially on the chopping block. I called them but they haven't gotten back to me yet!
