Crews at Glensheen Mansion removed a huge diving bell from under the boathouse during its renovation.

The boathouse was damaged during some storms a couple of years ago and while working on repairs they had a chance to remove a mysterious diving bell that has been under water for decades.

Glensheen has known about the diving bell and says on Facebook, "We have debated for years whether it was actually a diving bell. We are much more sure today that it is, and it is much larger than expected."

According to Wikipedia, a diving bell is a "chamber used to transport divers from the surface to depth and back in open water, usually for the purpose of performing underwater work." See the photo below for an idea of how one is used.
