Minnesota's North Shore is home to the iconic Split Rock Lighthouse which overlooks Lake Superior. There are two days coming up in December where you can get free admission to the history museum, and a photo with Kris Kringle himself.

The Minnesota Historical Society is helping raise money for the CareFree Assisted Living in Silver Bay and the Silver Bay Veterans Home. Kids under 17 will receive free site admission, and adults who bring a donation will also get in free.

Candy (no nuts or hard candy), cookies. puff corn, cheese puffs, single-serve drink mixes, jigsaw puzzles (no more than 500 pieces), large print puzzle books, pens, markers, coloring books, crayons, throw blankets for men and women, lap blankets for men and women, slippers, slipper socks with grippers, socks for men and women, toiletries (deodorant, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.), nail polish, emery boards, brushes, combs, lip balm, small cans of pop, boxes of all-occasion greeting cards for the residents to mail to family.

Santa will be making his way from the North Pole to the North Shore on December 9 and 16. You can bring your own camera or phone for a picture, or they will provide you with a polaroid you can take home.
