Ford Recalling Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX Models for Brake Line Issues
Ford is recalling over 500,000 crossover vehicles for issues regarding brake lines.
The recall affects 2015-18 Ford Edge and 2016-18 Lincoln MKX vehicles made at the Oakville Assembly Plant in Canada.
According to Ford, "Affected vehicles have front brake jounce hoses that could rupture. A ruptured front brake jounce hose will cause a progressive brake fluid leak. If the brake fluid reservoir is depleted below a certain level, the brake fluid warning indicator light will illuminate."
Ford says that it has not gotten any reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem behind the recall. The reference number for this recall is 20S42, dealers will replace the front brake jounce hoses with new ones.
There are 488,594 vehicles in the United States and about 70,000 in Mexico and Canada. If you'd like to see if your Ford Edge or Lincoln MKX is included in the recall, you can visit the official Ford recall site here.
