Surprisingly, Grandma's Marathon announced that registration is still open for the 29th annual Fitger’s 5K Run & Walk. The run is expected to sell out before race day on April 21st.

Fitgers 5k registration is capped at 2,100 entrants and for the second year in a row, all finishers will receive a commemorative finisher medal as well as a long-sleeve, quarter-zip shirt.

The race begins at 9:00 a.m. on East Superior Street in front of Fitger’s and travels through downtown Duluth and Canal Park before finishing back near Fitger’s. The pre-race entry fee is $35 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-14. The race is a USATF-certified, chip-timed course.

This is the second race in the 2018 KP Challenge. The KP Challenge is three Young Athletes Foundation (YAF) races, including the Saint Fennessy 4K, Fitger’s 5K and Park Point 5-Miler. The challenge is designed to keep participants on a regular running schedule that supports the successful completion of longer distances while raising money for the YAF.

The Fitgers 5k race won't be affected by the constrution in downtown Duluth and will Start in front of Fitgers, follow Superior Street to Lake, through Canal Park, down Railroad Street, then back to Lake Ave and follow Superior St back to Fitgers.

*To avoid delays on race morning, picking up your packet on Friday is highly recommended.

Parking
Free parking is available in the Fitger’s ramp.
Additional street parking is available on North 8th Avenue East and East 1st Street. Please follow all parking regulations.
