Essentia Health Duluth To Offer Complimentary Valet Service For Patients + Visitors
Essentia Health's Vision Northland construction project has brought a lot of changes and improvements to their downtown Duluth campus and as the project winds down, they continue to announce improved benefits.
Recently, Essentia Health announced they will be offering a complimentary valet service for patients and others visiting one of the hospitals on their downtown Duluth campus.
In their related press release, they stated they are happy to provide what will be a convenient option for patients as they navigate their campus and get to hospital appointments. Furthermore, the valet service will be equipped to help those with walkers and wheelchairs.
“This service will give our patients quicker and more streamlined access to our hospitals,” said John Vidmar, Essentia’s vice president of facilities. “Whether it’s in the cold, the snow or the rain, we’ll be able to offer quick and easy pick-up and drop-off that help our patients get to their appointments in a timely fashion without having to brave the elements.”
The new valet service will begin on Monday, June 5. Essentia adds that as the Vision Northland construction project winds down and the opening of the replacement St. Mary’s Medical Center approaches, patients will be able to use the valet service by coming to the patient drop-off circle at Essentia Health-Duluth, located at 502 E. Second Street.
Once there, they will find a designated valet post where an attendant will greet the patient, assist him or her with their needs and then park the patient’s vehicle. The attendant will provide a number the patient can text when they are ready to be picked up.
Once the replacement hospital officially opens in the third quarter of this year, the valet post will be relocated. Patients can then access this service via the replacement St. Mary’s entrance at 402 E. Second Street. There, they will follow the signs.
All vehicles will be parked in a nearby lot for quick drop-off and pick-up. Please note that this service will only be active for the hospital and will not include any of Essentia Health's clinics or other downtown buildings.
