Duluth Police Make Huge Fentanyl Bust
The Duluth Police made a big bust today taking a large amount of fentanyl off the street.
According to a post made on Facebook, Investigators from the Duluth Police Department and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed simultaneous search warrants on the 700 block E of 2nd Street on an apartment, a vehicle, and a 30-year-old male.
Officers were able to take about 92 grams of fentanyl off the street, a couple of guns and just over $6000 in cash. The male suspect is currently in the St. Louis County jail for 1st-degree sale of fentanyl and Fleeing in a motor vehicle.
The Duluth Poice is concerned that the removal of this much fentanyl could affect those suffering from addiction, they say, "We encourage those looking for an alternative to substance use by contacting our Opioid Response Team Hotline. 218-730-4009. Help will be provided."
Just to give you an idea of how much fentanyl 92 grams is, 2 milligrams is considered a lethal dose, so that means 92,000 potential lethal doses of the deadly drug were taken off the market today. GREAT WORK DPD!!
