Duluth Police Announce Participation in Pink Patch Project
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Duluth Police Department has announced that, for the first time ever, they will be proudly participating in the Pink Patch Project.
The Pink Patch Project is a collaborative effort between local law enforcement and public safety agencies to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer. This is first year the Duluth Police Department has participated in this terrific project.
They announced their participation Monday on their official Facebook page, while also sharing a sketch of what their patches will look like. Not only will all officers be wearing the special patch throughout the month of October, but the general public can purchase their own for $10 each.
“This new innovative public awareness campaign is another opportunity for the Duluth Police Department to continue to serve our community in a respectful, caring, and selfless manner,” said Chief Mike Tusken. “We’re happy to be able to not only bring awareness of breast cancer, but also donate 100% of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society to continue the fight against all cancers."
