The Great Lakes Aquarium, Duluth Entertainment Convention Center(DECC), and the Duluth Transit Authority, are hosting a joint event to welcome a brand new bus route.

The new route, Route 24, is a bus loop around Harbor Drive in the Bayfront/Canal Park area of Downtown Duluth.  The event will be held at the Statue of Liberty Park which is outside of the DECC between Amsoil Arena and the Great Lakes Aquarium.

The stakeholders will have a brief announcement, there will be a ribbon cutting by the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, a mascot relay race, and even some animals from the Great Lakes Aquarium.  Other organizations involved to support the new route will also be in attendance.

The new Route 24 launch is on Monday, August 26th, and it will increase accessibility to attractions and events along Harbor Drive.  The route will run passengers six days per week from the Duluth Transit Center to areas like, the Marcus Theater/William A. Irvin Ore Boat Museum, Vista Fleet/DECC, and Great Lakes Aquarium/Bayfront Festival Park.

The welcome event is on Monday, August 26th, from 10:00AM-10:30AM and you can get more information in it, and the new route here.
