Don't put those coats and gloves away just yet. That is, if you want to believe Punxsutawney Phil.

Every year on Groundhog Day, famous Phil emerges. According to legend, if he sees his shadow, we are all in for six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, it is said to mean spring will come early that year.

This year, he saw his shadow which means we are in for six more weeks of winter. This isn't a huge surprise. This is Minnesota, after all!

We shouldn't panic just yet. Phil isn't always right. Records say, since 1887, he has seen his shadow 103 times and has not seen it 18 times. Therefore, more often than not, Phil does see his shadow. This doesn't always translate into a longer winter season.

Whether Phil is right or wrong, we can't deny the whole thing is pretty fun. The event takes place every Groundhog Day at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. The whole thing is an experience, with top hats and a big celebration. Bundle up! It's going to be a long winter.
