Trevor Noah Sets Kevin Hart, Chris Christie and More as First ‘Daily Show’ Guests
Now that Stephen Colbert’s Late Show continues humming along through its third week, eyes turn to Trevor Noah and the September 28 premiere of our new Daily Show on Comedy Central. First up after Jon Stewart’s departure, Noah has set comedian Kevin Hart, GOP hopeful Chris Christie, and musician Ryan Adams among his first guests of the new tenure.
Per Comedy Central’s official announcement, the September 28 Daily Show With Trevor Noah will feature Hart as the first guest, promoting his What Now? tour. September 29 will see Bumble CEO and founder Whitney Wolfe, followed by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on September 30, and closing out the week on October 1 with Ryan Adams in promotion of his 1989 Taylor Swift cover album.
Additionally, Noah spoke to Rolling Stone to preview the first week of the new series, likening it to a “mini-series” that establishes the show’s new (if familiar) tone:
The first episode will be a reintroduction of the show — but you can’t just go off one episode like, Oh I know what this is about, I know what this is. It takes a lot more time. You’re building a relationship. So what we’re doing is dividing the first week into a four-part miniseries that will set the tone for what we hope the show will be.
Much of the creative team and correspondents will remain onboard, though the series has also added to its ranks Australian comic Ronny Chieng, actress Desie Lydic and comedian Roy Wood Jr. September 28 will see The Daily Show With Trevor Noah premiere, and you can check out the first promos below.
