Now that Stephen Colbert’s Late Show continues humming along through its third week, eyes turn to Trevor Noah and the September 28 premiere of our new Daily Show on Comedy Central. Comedy Central took a bit of a breather after Jon Stewart’s final Daily Show to let Stephen Colbert soak up some spotlight at CBS, but with Trevor Noah’s September 28 premiere fast arriving, it’s time to put asses in the chairs. Groove to some Kanye and lower your seat for our first look at The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.

The Daily Show and Comedy Central have announced that, after a long search with many rumored candidates, Trevor Noah will succeed the retiring Jon Stewart as the host of the late night program. Noah, a 31-year-old stand-up comedian, has served as a correspondent for the show but, so far, has only made three appearances.

Comedy legend Bill Cosby may not maintain much presence in the public eye anymore, beyond the occasional Jimmy Fallon appearance, but it seems the 76-year-old comic is going back to work full time. The former 'Cosby Show' leader will return with a new Comedy Central stand-up special later this year, having not recorded new material for a special in 30 years.

On the occasions in which Comedy Central puts someone outside the realm of comedy to roast, as most recently with comedienne Roseanne Barr, we always hope they deserve it. Thankfully, this year will hold true as the cable network has seated 'This Is the End' star and "Academy Award-nominated actor-director-writer-producer-artist" James Franco on the throne as its latest roastee. Something tells me he won't sing a song about farts or be swearing.  However, Brad Paisley will appear on Comedy Central's South Park Wednesday night at 9pm CST.  Brad will appear a couple of times during the episode.  He'll even get to sing a duet with Cartman (eat your heart out, Carrie Underwood)!  Brad is a perfect fit to be on this show with his sense of humor and I look forward to seeing it.

Fans of the show are left hanging as to what happened to the 'Colbert Report'.  Is there an illness?  Punishment for a behind the scenes discretion?  Just a publicity stunt?   Comedy Central's "Colbert Report" is off the air and it's a mystery why. An expected new episode of the show was replaced
