I guess there is a downside to the nice weather after all.

The Cloquet Police Department has issued a warning to residents with the nice weather as of late. They are instructing everyone to lock their car doors and take out any valuables that may be sitting inside.

Why? Because there has been an increase in vehicle prowls. They attribute the increase to the sunshine and dramatic rise in outside temperatures.

CPD issued the warning on their Facebook page, also noting that most reports of vehicle prowls they have received happened to cars that were unlocked.

By the way - vehicle prowling does not mean someone circles your car or lurks at it from afar. It is the act of someone going into your car without permission and stealing what's inside.

I never leave my car doors unlocked. Why would you? It only takes one split second to lock it up and save yourself a lot of money and hassle in the future.
