Cloquet Firefighter Honored by Red Cross
The Duluth Chapter of the Red Cross honored a Cloquet firefighter with their Hometown Hero award.
Cloquet Area Fire District Public Education Coordinator Sarah Buhs received the honor for her work installing smoke detectors in at-risk homes in the Cloquet area and her efforts with in-home fire safety. Way to go, the community is lucky to have you!
The award says, "In recognition of our leadership, dedication to our community and to the mission of the American Red Cross."
If you're interested in having Sarah and the Cloquet Area Fire District do a home safety visit, they will resume in September and you can get more information or schedule a time by calling 218-499-4528 or visit cloquetareafiredistrict.com.
According to their website, during a safety visit, "a public educator will examine existing units to determine if they need to be replaced as well as ensure proper placement. New smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors will be provided as needed and installed by our staff. The homeowner will also receive education on fire safety within the home along with how to maintain/test their alarms/detectors."
