I had a wonderful Mother's Day, not only am I going to be attending the Def Leppard and Foreigner concert but I also received a very inspirational gift from my daughter Kylee.  Have you ever heard of a lokai?

Kylee explained that the bracelet is to help you "find your balance".  There is a white bead and a black bead and clear beads connecting the two.  The clear beads are my story to tell.  It's the black and white bead that is most interesting.

Steven Izen, the founder of lokai says that when you hit the low times in your life you should stay hopeful.  He experienced a low when his grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.   The black bead on the lokai bracelet holds mud from the Dead Sea.  It's the lowest point on earth and signifies the lowest times of your life.

The white bead of the lokai bracelet holds water from Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth.  This is to represent when you are experiencing a high time of your life.  It reminds you that even though everything is going your way at the moment, you must remember to stay humble.

I love the analogy and the fact that I can wear this on my wrist to remind me to remain balanced as I deal with life's highs and lows.  Thank you to my very insightful daughter Kylee, to give such a thoughtful gift and inspirational gift.  The gift itself is precious, the fact that it came from her makes it all the more special.
